Girls Wrestling Takes 4th and Boys Wrestling 5th in State!

This weekend the John Glenn Varsity Wrestling team was represented by several athletes who competed at the California Association Duals.  The girls finished 4th in state and the boys took 5th in state.  A well deserved congratulations for their endured efforts past the regular season.

CIF Individuals for JG Wrestling

This weekend the Eagles Varsity Wrestling team competed at CIF individuals.  Of the athletes that competed against fierce competition from the area, two Eagles placed and one is going to continue on to Masters.  Aaron Enriquez took 8th place wrestling in the 195lb weight class. Wrestling League Finals Manifests JG Individual Champions

John Glenn hosted Wrestling league tonight for both JV and Varsity Boys Wrestling.  There were hours of fierce competition among competitors, out of which the best of the league transpired. The Eagles had 9 athletes make it through the first rounds and into the finals.  Of the 9, 1 athlete placed 4th, 3 took 3rd place,

Wrestling Sweeps Bellflower

Girls, JV Boys, and Varsity Boys swept Bellflower at home last night leaving no room for doubt.  The Buccaneers were nowhere close to victory as the Eagles ensured the win by a large margin.

Girls Wrestling Creates a Buzz

Varsity Girls Wrestling was introduced to Suburban League this year as its own level.  The City of Norwalk has caught the buzz and the Lady Eagles were featured in the Norwalk Newspaper prior to League and featured a spot on Norwalk’s television station during the match against Mayfair at home.

Eagles Wrestling Dominates Norwalk!

Girls Wrestling took Norwalk 54-12 at NHS yesterday. JV Boys scored 54-12. Varsity boys wrestling shut out NHS a whopping 70-0.

Wrestling Takes 2nd at Kern County Invitational!

The Varsity Boys Wrestling team competed against 32 other teams in the Kern County Invitational and placed 2nd.  Several Eagles placed at the tournament: Jason Amaya took 4th in competition, Senior Rene Pineda took 5th, Alex Morales placed 4th in competition, Isaack Juarez took 5th, Daniel Arvizu took 5th, and Josiah Delgado placed 2nd. Josiah Delgado placed as tournament champion at the Downey Tournament where the Eagles took on competitors from multiple schools.

JG Alumni Compete In College

This weekend JG alumni competed for their colleges at a local wrestling tournament. Steven Morones, Angel Barajas, and Michael Estrada represented ELAC and Cerritos College in competion.
